About me
Hi, I’m Alena, a UX/UI designer with a background in graphic design and a strong appreciation for aesthetics, functionality, and human connection.
I currently work with Polestar on the Journey Log app, combining my interest in automotive design with my passion for creating seamless, purposeful experiences. I love how automotive UX brings together structured rules and high-end visual storytelling—Polestar stands out for its thoughtful and elegant design language.
I enjoy turning research into meaningful concepts and refining ideas until the product feels intuitive and complete. I believe great design is not only useful and usable but also emotionally engaging, because designers help shape the visual culture of our time. I see complex challenges as opportunities for collaboration, curiosity, and open communication. I also value a team culture where humor, trust, and shared energy help everyone thrive.
To stay sharp, I attend meetups, follow design trends, and exchange ideas with peers. My art background gives me a strong sense of style and composition—minimalism and brutalism often inspire me for their boldness and clarity.
When I am not in Figma :D
When I’m not designing, I love switching gears and spending time on things that recharge me. Staying active is important to me too, whether it’s a bike ride through the city or a good session at the gym.
I enjoy painting with watercolors, caring for my growing collection of houseplants, and recently, I’ve been learning how to knit socks. It is a slow but satisfying process. Spending time in museums, exhibitions and botanical dardens fuels my creativity and helps me stay visually curious.
I also love exploring new flavors and trying out recipes. Eating and cooking are my favorite ways to unwind and be creative in a different way.
